Privacy policy

What we collect

Your account email and password (handled by our auth provider, Supabase), your display name, role, profile photo, and language preference. If you post jobs, bid, or get hired: addresses, job and bid details, chat messages, and reviews. Optionally, a private contact email and phone number you give us in Settings. We also collect basic technical data (such as your IP address) needed to run the site securely and prevent abuse.

How your address is protected

The exact street address of a job is only shown to the homeowner who posted it and to the landscaper they hire. It is not included in the public job listings and is not readable through our public API — everyone else only ever sees the city.

Payments

When a job is paid, the card payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Your full card number is entered on Stripe's secure page and is never seen or stored by Green Connection — we only receive a confirmation, the amount, and which job it was for. Landscapers who receive payouts complete a separate onboarding directly with Stripe, which collects their payout and identity details; we never see their full bank or ID information.

Companies that process data for us

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service: Supabase (database, accounts, and file storage), Stripe (payments and payouts), Google Translate (translating message and page text — only the text is sent, never your name or account details), and LocationIQ (address autocomplete). We also send transactional and notification emails. These providers process data on our behalf; we don't sell your data to anyone.

What other users see

Your display name, profile photo, listings, reviews, and — inside a job you're part of — your chat messages and the job details. Your login email, private contact email, and phone number are never shown to other users until a job is paid on the platform.

Cookies & sessions

We use cookies only to keep you logged in and secure your session — no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Clearing them will simply log you out.

Chat and translations

Chat messages are stored so both sides keep a record, and offensive words are filtered automatically. When you and the other person use different languages, message text is sent to Google Translate to produce the translation — no name, email, or account info goes with it.

What we never do

We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. We don't share your login email, private contact email, or phone number with other users — coordinating happens in the in-app chat, where phone numbers and emails stay hidden until a job is paid on the platform.

Where data lives

Data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider). Profile, portfolio, and job photos are stored in public buckets — anyone with the direct link can view the image itself, so don't upload photos you wouldn't want public.

Your choices & rights

You can view and update your profile and contact details in Settings, and turn off “new job” emails there. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time through the feedback form in Settings, and we'll act on it. Deleting your account removes your personal data, though we may keep limited records we're required to keep (for example, payment records for tax and accounting).

Children

Green Connection isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
